◆Engineered and deployed a production RAG-based maintenance assistant for field engineers, integrating Python, FastAPI, SharePoint and website ingestion, structure-aware chunking, BGE-large embeddings, Pinecone vector search and PostgreSQL metadata. The system retrieves and reranks relevant content, applies permission-aware filtering, and generates citation-backed responses using an OpenAI LLM, with refusal handling when evidence is insufficient. Evaluated GTE-base against BGE-large across retrieval and end-to-end RAG metrics, with BGE-large achieving 91% Recall@5, 95% Recall@10, 0.81 MRR, 96% answer correctness, 98% groundedness, 97% citation accuracy, 3% hallucination rate and 94% refusal accuracy. Deployed as Dockerised services on GCP with production monitoring, security controls, failure handling and regression testing.
